Southern Maine Portland H.O.G. (SMPHOG) is Southern Maine's official H.O.G. Chapter. We are sponsored by Big Moose Harley-Davidson/Buell® in Portland, ME. The mission of SMPHOG is to bring together a community of people that enjoy riding on Harley-Davidson® motorcycles where the camaraderie and friendship will benefit each other and the community around us.  It's also so we can focus awareness on improving the public perception of the Harley Owners Group® and those that belong to it through public and private gatherings. We are an active and diverse group of riders that enjoy riding motorcycles, getting to know other people and oh, did I mention... we love finding great places to eat!  In this club you will find riders willing to help you whenever they can and you'll find Road Captains that are experienced and trained specifically to make our rides safe and enjoyable.  In fact, Southern Maine Portland H.O.G. is well known in the area for holding safe, structured group rides.  We continue to receive e-mails, letters and comments from guest riders on how much they enjoyed riding with our group. SMPHOG hosts a variety of chapter sponsored rides every year to fit everyone's style like weekly Ice Cream Rides, Dinner Rides, Multiple Ride choices scheduled on certain weekends, Travelling Picnics, Progressive Dinner, Overnight Rides, Theme Rides and also Open Rides. In addition to our chapter rides, SMPHOG also takes pride in being a contributor to our surrounding community by supporting many local charities and centers through group rides and fund raisers. SMPHOG also holds sessions for riders that are new to Group Riding.  These sessions are run by experienced Road Captains who will work with you to help you learn the basics and will give you advice on how to hone your skills.  Once you are a member you can also download a Group Riding Fact sheet from our website! Already decided to join?  Click on the Join button to your left for information on how to or, if you happen to be in Big Moose Harley-Davidson/Buell, stop in our Hog's Den and pick up a Membership Information Packet from the designated wall pocket.  This packet contains everything you need to join.  Just fill out the enclosed membership form, drop a check in, paste a stamp onto the pre-addressed envelope and drop it in the mail.  It's that easy!  NOTE: You must be a current member of National H.O.G. to join SMPHOG.
